Problem Set Instructions

This course will have regular problems sets. Some problem sets will involve both hand-written work as well as software development. Problem sets must be submitted for grading by 5PM on the specified due date. We do not accept late submissions.

Follow these instructions for all problem set submissions.

  1. Make a folder called yoursurnamePSk, where yoursurname is your actual surname (mine is Muller) and k is the number of the current problem set.

  2. Place into this folder all the files that you are submitting for the problem set.

  3. Zip the folder, to create a compressed file with the extension .zip. To do this on a Windows machine, you should click on the folder with the right mouse button, and select the option "Send To..Compressed Folder" from the popup menu. On a Mac, you click on the folder icon, and then select "Create Archive of PS_1_yourLastName" from the File menu.

  4. Submit the zipped folder through WebCT. To do this, log into WebCT, click the link "Problem Sets" on the left-hand panel, and follow all the links for PSk. You will arrive at a page that gives instructions for uploading your file and submitting it.
In some instances I will also ask students to bring a printout of their assignment to class.
