Deitel & Associates, Inc. is the world’s top computer science content creation organization, with many best-selling textbooks, professional books and multimedia packages. We are also launching several new Web 2.0 business ventures through our Web 2.0 Internet Business Initiative.
We have internship opportunities for students majoring in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Information Technology. Interns will work on our new business ventures (web development) and on our Deitel/Prentice Hall college and professional publications. Students will gain significant programming experience working on products that will be sold worldwide.
Interns will learn and work with some of the following technologies: Visual C# 2008, Visual Basic 2008, ASP.NET Ajax, Silverlight, LINQ, Java, Game Programming, Ajax, XML, Web Services, UML 2, Flash, Database, MySQL and more.
Responsibilities:
- Web site design and implementation using DotNetNuke—an open source Internet portal template based on Microsoft technologies. Includes programming ASP.NET 2.0 applications in Visual Basic or C#.
- Designing and building ASP.NET 2.0 tools for our new Internet Business Initiative that will be written in Visual Basic and C#. This tool will interact with web services from the world’s leading Internet businesses.
- Working with AJAX technologies for our Internet Business Initiative.
- Working on several of our best-selling Deitel/Prentice Hall publications including

Visual Basic 2008 How to Program, 4/e
Simply Visual Basic 2008 An Application Driven Tutorial Approach, 3/e
Java How to Program, 8/e
Requirements:
1. Must be enrolled in college degree program in computer science, IT, IS, MIS or equivalent.
2. Must have a 3.2 GPA or higher.
3. Strong programming skills.
4. Strong English written and communication skills.
5. Deitel is located in the Clock Tower Place Office Park in Maynard, Massachusetts, approximately 24 miles west of Boston. Applicants must have a car.
