Actuarial Internship Program;

OneBeacon is looking for (2) students graduating in the Spring of 2009 (currently juniors), to be Actuarial Interns for a full time, paid, 8-10 week summer 2008 internship program in our Canton, MA location.

The summer internship has been designed for college juniors to provide challenging and meaningful work experience and casualty actuarial training. You will be assigned a mentor who will provide and oversee practical work experience including: data collection and reporting; information management; and, programming development. You will also be given a solid overview of one of our lines of business including: Personal Lines, Commercial Lines and Specialty.

Over the course of this internship you will be exposed to theories and practices involving risk, rating, pricing, underwriting and reserving. You will be responsible for a final project at the end of the program which you will present to Senior Actuarial staff members.

We are looking for demonstrated proficiency with computer software including current Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and other data entry and spreadsheet applications and programs. You must also demonstrate a strong mathematical aptitude.
